About Me

Hi, my name is Shirley Phelan (she/her/hers) and I am a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist. I am married with two children. I live in the north west of England, my hobbies include playing the piano, reading, relaxing with family and friends and going on long walks with my Springer Spaniel Layla.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Systemic Family Therapist MSc
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse RMN

Membership to:

  • The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy
  • The Association of Family Therapy

I hold up to date certifications with the Disclosure and Barring Service and the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Informed by evidence-based practice interventions aim to help families tap into their strengths and resilience. I offer consultation and supervision to professionals working within the private and public sectors.

Experience

I have worked within the NHS for 38 years before coming an independent Systemic Practioner. My experience has included offering therapy within specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), working within an all age Eating Disorder Service, Couples Therapy and Parenting Therapy.

Services

I provide client centred, culturally sensitive systemic assessments and therapeutic interventions meeting the unique needs of client groups.

Please note that I currently do not have any availability for taking on new clients, but still feel free to get in contact below.

Format

Online sessions. 

Rates

£50 per 60 mins for individual.

£60 per 60 mins for family / parenting sessions and supervisory sessions.

Organisational Away Days / Team consultations to be negotiated.
